Registering to Vote

The City uses the most recent Provincial Voters List from Elections BC on Voting Day.

If you voted in the last provincial election, you should already be on the most recent Provincial Voter's List.

If you are not on the list, you may register to vote on election day by bringing two pieces of identification and completing the voter registration form

To confirm your voter registration online, please go to www.elections.bc.ca

Registering if you are NOT on the Voter's List

If you are not on the most recent Provincial Voters List, you will be required to complete a voter registration form, and show two pieces of identification when you go to the polling station to vote.

You may wish to print off, complete and bring the Voter Registration Form with you to the Voting Place.

ID Requirements

Those intending to register must bring at least two documents of acceptable identification that will provide proof of your identity and place of residence.  At least one of the documents must contain your signature.

Acceptable identification includes:

  • BC Drivers License/BC Identification Card
  • BC Care Card
  • Social Insurance Card
  • Canadian Citizenship Card
  • Utility Bill (phone, hydro, gas, cable etc.)
  • Property Tax Notice
  • Credit Card or Debit Card
  • Vehicle insurance documents issued by ICBC

Please note passports are not an acceptable form of identification.
