Emergency Amateur Radio

The Coquitlam Amateur Radio Club, more formally regarded as the Coquitlam Amateur Radio Emergency Service Society (C.A.R.E.S.S.) is a non-profit organization that was created to promote the exciting hobby of Amateur / Ham radio and emergency communications. Over the last 14 years, the society has become an integral part of the local and provincial emergency prepardness plans by providing communications expertise and experienced radio operators free of charge in the event of a large disaster.

The Coquitlam Amateur Radio club is situated on the centrally located grounds of Riverview Hospital, in the City of Coquitlam. In this unique setting, they maintain a large dedicated clubhouse with an impressive array of antennas and towers which in an instant, can provide local and worldwide back-up communications on the amateur radio operators. To accommodate volunteer examiner within the membership for those who are seeking an amateur radio license.
