Search and Rescue

Coquitlam Search & Rescue is a volunteer organization serving Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Anmore, Belcarra and Port Moody residents and visitors.

The team is responsible for inland water and wilderness search and rescue from Indian Arm on the west to Pitt Lake on the east. Coquitlam Search & Rescue also provides assistance to residents during natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes.

The team works closely with local fire departments, B.C. Ambulance Services, police, Coast Guard, the Canadian Armed Forces and other agencies.

Through mutual aid agreements, as resources permit, Coquitlam Search & Rescue members are available to provide backup assistance to other search & rescue teams. In turn, these other teams can be called into the Tri-Cities area to assist in major operations.

With primary responsibility to Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody residents and visitors, Coquitlam Search & Rescue coverage includes:

  • Burke Mountain
  • Minnekhada Park
  • Coquitlam Watershed
  • Eagle Ridge
  • Buntzen Lake
  • Sasamat
  • Belcarra
  • Pitt Lake
