Reporting a Crime

If you witness or are a victim of a crime... 

  • Stay calm
  • Let the operator control the conversation
  • Stay on the phone; do not hang up until the operator directs you to do so
  • Give all requested information (Questions such as birth date may seem unimportant, but they are used to file and retrieve complaints)
  • Remember to ask for your file number at the end of the call.  Referral to your file may be necessary for follow-ups or for insurance purposes

How do I report a crime?

 

For NON-EMERGENCY - Call 604-945-1550
Not life threatening or crimes that have already been committed, such as damage to property, stolen vehicle

 

For EMERGENCY - Call 9-1-1

Crime that is in progress.  The suspect is still on the scene.
