Funding and Grants

 

Non-profit groups and community organizations - apply for these great opportunities!

 

The City provides annual grants to non-profit and community-based organizations to help the City fulfill its mission statement and accomplish strategic goals. The City has a Community Capital Fund and Community Grants  to support the community.

 

This year's grants are:

  • 2010 Spirit of Coquitlam Grant
  • 2010 Active Grant

2010 Spirit of Coquitlam Grant

Investing in the enhancement and future of Coquitlam

The 2010 Spirit of Coquitlam Fund is designed to assist community organizations who combine their efforts and resources to directly benefit Coquitlam residents.  It is through this collaborative spirit which creates a City where people choose to live, work and play as outlined in the City’s Strategic Plan. 

In the "spirit" of this funding, priority consideration will be given to community organizations that will:

  • Match the funds requested
  • Work collaboratively with other non-profit organizations
  • Demonstrate the proposed project, event or activity will have a measurable benefit to the community and will directly support citizens of Coquitlam
  • Support the achievement of the City’s Strategic Plan

2010 Active Grant

The City of Coquitlam 2010 Active Grant is available to non-profit organizations that provide sport and active recreation services for children and youth residing in Coquitlam.
The goal of this grant is to promote and increase the participation of children and youth (both male and female) in sport and active recreation programs and services.

Who can apply? This grant is available to non-profit groups that provide sport and active recreation services for children and youth in Coquitlam. Priority will be given to groups that provide new and innovative entry-level or “try-it” programs that result in a measurable increase in the participation of children and youth.

There will be a limit of $5,000 per successful application considered. 

Priority will be given to organization requests that: 

  • Provide entry level or “try-it” programs;
  • Will match the grant funds;
  • Plan to collaborate with other organizations;
  • Demonstrate that the proposed project, event or activity is new and innovative, and will result in a measurable increase in participation of children and youth;
  • Directly support children and youth residing in Coquitlam and justify the need for that request;
  • The project, event or activity is sustainable after  the support from the Grant
