Treefest

Treefest 2009 will be held on September 13 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Riverview Hospital Grounds located at 2601 Lougheed Highway.

Bring the entire family to this free annual celebration of trees on the Riverview Hospital Lands. The festival site is located at the Henry Esson Young Building, accessible from Lougheed Highway, and has free on-site parking.

Activities include:

  • Guided tree tours
  • Children's crafts and activities
  • Children's tree walk
  • Community displays
  • Live entertainment, including children's performers
  • Art exhibit
  • Blackberry Tea
  • Heritage building tour
  • Tree sale
  • Food concession
  • Bonsai demonstrations
  • Tree planting demonstration
  • Fall planter workshop
  • Organic gardening workshop
  • Presentation by Tales of the Trees author, Val Adolph
  • SPARC Radio Museum and Riverview Hospital Historical Museum open for tours
