Off Leash Dog Areas

Bramble Park - 2775 Panorama Drive

Bramble Park is a fenced off leash dog area situated just south of Bramble Park under the Hydro Right of Way, between Panorama Drive and David Avenue.

  • Dawn - Dusk Daily
  • Dogs may be unleashed inside the compound;
  • Dog owners are responsible for their dog's behaviour;
  • Dog owners must maintain control of their dogs at all times;
  • Dog owners must maintain voice control of your dog at all times;
  • Dogs defined as "vicious" in the Animal Bylaw (ie. all pitbull and pitbull cross breeds among others) are prohibited from being off-leash;
  • Dog owners are responsible for the safe disposal of dog waste;
  • Dogs must not chase or disturb wildlife.

 

Miller Park - 870 Oakview Street

Miller Park off leash dog area is situated on the eastern portion of Miller Park.

  • Dawn - Dusk Daily
  • Off-Leash Dogs are prohibited from entering ravine/watercourse or sportsfield areas;
  • Dog owners are responsible for their dogs behaviour;
  • Dog owners are responsible for the safe disposal of dog waste;
  • Dogs defined as "vicious" in the Animal Bylaw (ie. all pitbull and pitbull cross breeds among others) are prohibited from being off-leash; 
  • Dogs must not chase or disturb wildlife.

Mundy Park - 501 Mariner Way

Fenced, off-leash site on the west side of Mariner Way in the hydro right-of-way, south of the Chilko Drive parking area. This site has a dedicated fenced area for large dogs and a separate smalelr fenced area for small dogs.

Access to the fenced areas is managed by a double gate system. The site is approximately a 3 to 5 minute walk from the Chilko parking area along an ashphalt pathway.

Off-Leash Fenced Area

  • Fenced off-leash area is open Dawn - dusk daily;
  • A maximum of three dogs per person is allowed in the off-leash area, owners are responsible and liable for their dogs at all times;
  • Please avoid bringing toys and food to the off-leash area when other dogs are present;
  • Aggressive and uncontrolled dogs are not welcome in the off-leash area;
  • Please pick up after your dog and fill in any holes your dog digs to ensure a clean and safe play area;
  • A valid license and current vaccination are required to help keep dogs safe and healthy;

Off-leash Trails

Dog are permitted to run off-leash from dawn to 10:00 a.m. daily and must remain on trails (Click here map of trails). Dogs must be on leash after 10:00 a.m. in all areas of the park.

  • Dogs are prohibited on and off-leash around Mundy Lake and from entering any lake or watercourse;
  • Dog owners are responsible for their dog's behaviour;

  • Dogs defined as "vicious" in the Animal Bylaw (ie. all pitbull and pitbull cross breeds among others) are prohibited from being off-leash;
  • Dogs must not chase or disturb wildlife;

Ridge Park

  • Dog owners are responsible for their dogs behaviour;
  • Dog owners are responsible for the safe disposal of dog waste;
  • Dog owners must maintain control of dogs at all times and stay on the trails;
  • Dogs defined as "vicious" in the Animal Bylaw (ie. all pitbull and pitbull cross breeds among others) are prohibited from being off-leash; 
  • Dogs must not chase or disturb wildlife.

Things you may not know about keeping your dog leashed

  • Unleashed dogs, especially small ones, can be prey for predators such as coyotes or eagles
  • Unleashed dogs can pick up diseases through contact with other animals and birds or their feces
  • You may know you can control your dog if it's off leash - BUT can you control another dog which your dog may approach, or may approach your dog?
  • Leashing is a good practise for preventing fights with other dogs
  • If your dog harms someone you may be personally liable
