Recreation & Community
With programs and recreation activities for all ages, along with its fully-equipped pools, community centres, libraries and an arena, residents enjoy a wide range of leisure activities. Plus, the City currently provides 68 parks featuring trails and bike paths, playgrounds, sportsfields and picnic areas. Community also includes volunteering funding opportunities and the Coquitlam Animal Shelter services.

Coquitlam has over 80 municipal Parks and Natural Areas totalling over 2,200 acres. The parks and trails include features ranging from picnic areas and playgrounds, to outdoor pools, spray parks, sportsfields and skateboard parks.
Coquitlam supports environmental stewardship and education through special events, stewardship group support, the Bear Aware Program, Adopt a Trail Program, Nature and Outdoor Pursuit Programs and many other environmental initiatives. Pets & Animals
