I Heart Parks

This contest is open to residences, stratas, community organizations, and businesses located in Coquitlam. 

Submissions will be welcomed for each of the following categories:

• Business – Organization Frontage
• Business – Organization Patio
• Residential Frontage
• Residential Backyard
• Residential Patio-Balcony
• Strata Frontage
• Strata Commons

• Show us your favorite tree 
• Show us your favorite parks floral display

1.    Contest runs from June 1, 2026 – October 15, 2026

2.    The contest is open to Coquitlam residents submitting spaces in Coquitlam.

3.    Submissions must be accompanied by an email/phone to be contacted.

4.    A maximum of three photos per entry will be accepted. The Park Spark team will choose the best three photos if more than three are submitted.

Winners will be selected based on the following criteria:

• Overall Impression – The immediate “wow factor” the spaces gives, combining beauty, creativity, and upkeep into one lasting impression.
• Artistic Expression – How creatively and beautifully the space is designed to reflect a unique style or theme.
• Plant Health – How well the plants are cared for, shown by vibrant color, strong growth, and being free of pests, disease, or damage.
• Pollinator Friendliness – Includes plants and features that attract and support bees, butterflies, and other beneficial, pollinators.

** New categories for 2026will be selected based on the following criteria:

• Connection why this tree or floral is your favorite 
• Artistic Expression – How creatively and beautifully the tree or floral display is captured in the photo.

Select your three best photos for your chosen category and email them to parkspark@coquitlam.ca with your full name, Coquitlam address, phone number, and category you are entering. Submissions will be accepted June 1 and October 15, 2026. The Park Spark team will respond with further details.

Tips for taking your photos:

• When using a phone, please take photos in vertical format
• Capture the most of your garden by including the entirety of your greenspace in your photos.
• Do not include people in your photos.
• Consider the contest judging criteria before planting and photographing your garden.
