Program Description:
Academic ESL courses are designed to help language learners at the intermediate and advanced levels meet their academic goals. For new Immigrants, this means building English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to the level needed to succeed in post-secondary education and employment in Canada.

Client Profile / Eligibility Criteria:
• Open Enrolment – General Admission Completed BC secondary school graduation or equivalent in another school system  or 19 years of age or older
• English Proficiency; one of the following:
- Minimum TOEFL score of 45 IBT, 133 CBT, or 450 PBR
- Minimum IELTS score of 3.0 in Speaking and Listening, and Reading & Writing
- Douglas College English as a Second Language  Assessment

Registration Information:
Students can apply online or in person through Application and Registration Services at Douglas College

Start Dates / Duration:
Douglas College offers ESL courses in all three semesters - Fall, Winter and Summer
