Program Description:
6 - 8 families come together at various locations in the community to plan, budget, prepare and eat agreed upon menus. Attention is given to financially challenged families and much of the program is designed around cooking on a limited budget and utilizing groceries received from local Food banks. The Budget Gourmet program encourages parents to stretch their dollars and their creativity while at the same time reducing isolation and building friendships.

Client Profile / Eligibility Criteria:
Any parent living in the Tri Cities with children aged 0 - 15 years who want to learn about budgeting, nutrition, and safe food handling techniques.

Registration Information:
All registration and program questions can be directed to special.projects@westcoastfamily.org Where support is needed to register, people can either call or come to the office.

Start Dates / Duration:
The program is offered 3 - 4 times per year on a 6 to 8 session cycle.

Program Fee:
Free. Groceries are provided, lunch or snacks are prepared together and served and families can take some food home to share with other family members. Free child minding is also available.
