The program supports children, youth and young adults with disabilities and their families to acquire skills, increase independence and increase community inclusion through life skills providing goal oriented interventions and activities. The services provided work to increase inclusion in community, neighbourhood and age appropriate activities.
Client Profile / Eligibility Criteria:
Children and youth with Developmental Disabilities 6 to 18 years old who live in the Tri-Cities Region.
This program is funded by the Ministry of Child and Family Development and as such only MCFD Social Workers can make referrals. Families can contact the Child and Youth with Special Needs by calling (604) 528-3950 and ask for services.
Start Dates / Duration:
Intake and services are ongoing throughout the year and the level and length of service depends on the individual needs of each child and family.
There is no charge for families referred by MCFD
