Multiculturalism Advisory Committee

Mandate

The Multiculturalism Advisory Committee:

Fosters an awareness and understanding of the City’s multicultural population and diversity;
Initiates and facilitates discussion around existing and emerging multiculturalism issues;
Addresses barriers relative to citizen involvement in the community;
Assists in the development of a multiculturalism policy implementation strategy for the City;
Identifies opportunities for public education and discussion regarding multiculturalism in the City; and
Provides input into the development and implementation of programs and services that enhance the culture of the community and create educational opportunities.

Composition

2 Council Members:
- Chair: Councillor Asmundson
- Vice Chair: Councillor Reimer
Up to 12 citizen appointees
