What is the current status of the building?
The building was released by Fire/Rescue to Angel Restoration Tuesday evening. Angel Restoration will now assess structural integrity, inspect the units and review damage.
When can I get back in my home to get my personal belongings from my suite?
Angel Restoration is coordinating with residents to enable access to the building to collect personal belongings. They will be available on-site Monday - Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
What should I do next? Where should I stay?
Residents are encouraged to make arrangements to stay with family and friends and ensure that you have contacted your insurance company. Most insurance companies provide housing support in events such as these.
How can I get my car from the parking area beside the building or underground parkade?
Angel Restoration is coordinating with residents to enable access to the parking garage. Residents will be required to produce their driver's license and will be escorted by restoration personnel to their car. Restoration staff will need to cross reference the resident's driver's license with the name identified on the vehicle insurance papers.
I provided my keys to the Fire Department, what will happen to them now?
All keys have been turned over to Angel Restoration and will be used to access suites to assess damage. Please contact Angel Restoration at 604-990-8629 for more information.

How can I retrieve my mail?
Your mail will be held at the depot located at:

You will need government issued photo ID to pick up your mail. Remember, for long-term, ensure you complete a change of address form once you have a place to stay.

Where can I get updated information?
Updates will be provided on the City's website (this page) until Tuesday, March 6, 2012. After that, any information updates will be made by contacting the insurance agency or the restoration company.
Where can I make a donation?
Those interested in donating items for the residents of the Adair fire can bring their donations to SHARE or another local charity. The City of Coquitlam is not coordinating donations at this time.
Where can I access a computer to retrieve information and access community resources?
Computer access is available at your local public library. Please contact the Coquitlam Public Library at 604-937-4144 for hours and locations.
Update: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.
The fire at 976 Adair Street has affected 24 units. Fire damage is primarily limited to the originating suite on the third floor. Smoke and water damage has affected a number of additional suites throughout the building (all three floors). Residents affected by the fire are asked to register at the Emergency Social Services centre at the Centennial Pavilion, 624 Poirier Street (access off Winslow), to receive assistance. The Reception Centre will be open until 8:00 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) and will re-open tomorrow (Wednesday, February 29) at 1:00 p.m.
The restoration company is currently on-site evaluating the damage and is determining a timeline for repairs. Residents will be permitted to visit the site tomorrow morning to coordinate directly with the restoration company (Angel Restoration at 604-221-7575) to obtain supervised re-entry to their units, as well as access to vehicles.
There will be an update meeting tomorrow (Wednesday, February 29) at 1:00 p.m. at the Centennial Pavilion, 624 Poirier Street.

Information session for residents affected by the fire at 976 Adair Street will be held today at 3:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the Emergency reception Centre at the Centennial Pavilion, 624 Poirier Street (access off Winslow).

At roughly 10:00 a.m. this morning, Coquitlam Fire/Rescue responded to a structural fire at 976 Adair Street. Residents at this building are being asked to go to a reception center set up at the Centennial Pavilion, 624 Poirier Street (access off Winslow).
No serious injuries were reported.
