PSA - Coquitlam Fire/Rescue Not Associated with Burn Victims Aid Society

COQUITLAM, BC, October 26, 2012 – Coquitlam Fire/Rescue and the Coquitlam Firefighters Charitable Society have recently received information that individuals posing as sales personnel are approaching local business owners to install coin-operated breathalyzers claiming all proceeds will go to the Coquitlam Fire Fighters Burn Fund or other Fire Service-related charities. These individuals are implying that they are either a Coquitlam Fire Fighter or someone having direct association with the Coquitlam Fire Department.

Coquitlam Fire/Rescue and Coquitlam Fire Fighters Charitable Society do not condone, support or are in any way associated with this company or the cause that these parties claim they are representing, namely, "Burn Victims Aid Society."

If you are approached by someone and you feel their actions are suspicious, you are encouraged to contact the Coquitlam RCMP non-emergency number at 604-945-1550.
