Coquitlam Invites Applications for Cultural Displays at City Hall

by Heather Escaravage |

COQUITLAM, BC, March 30, 2016 – Coquitlam invites local groups and individuals to share information about their culture through a display at City Hall.

The cultural display space at City Hall is an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the community’s diversity as Coquitlam is known for its warm friendliness and welcomes people from countries across the world. In fact, over 40 per cent of the City’s residents are new Canadians, and after English, the top four languages spoken at home are Korean, Farsi, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

Two display case sections in the main foyer of City Hall are available for cultural displays and each display must:

  • have an education benefit,
  • promote Coquitlam’s cultural diversity, and
  • be available for public viewing for a minimum of one week.

Applications for the cultural display space are considered on first come-first served basis. Groups and individuals interested in this opportunity in 2016 are encouraged to submit their application no later than Friday, April 29. The City will advise applicants of the outcome of their submission by mid-May.

Visit our Cultural Display webpage to learn more and to access the application form.
