Extra Yard Trimmings To Be Collected This Fall

by Heather Escaravage |

COQUITLAM, BC, Nov. 1, 2016 – As fall yard clean up gets underway, the City of Coquitlam’s Seasonal Unlimited Yard Trimmings collection program will help dispose of extra green waste.

From Oct. 31 - Nov. 25, residents receiving solid waste collection from the City can put out extra yard trimmings for pick up.

In addition to your Green Cart, place any extra yard trimmings at your curbside by 7:30 a.m. on your collection day.  Residents may put out yard trimmings in advance of their collection day under this program, but the containers must not contain food scraps.

Residents may place yard trimmings in kraft paper bags, in bundles (with branches less than 7.5 cm (3 in.) in diameter and no more than 1 m (3 ft.) in length), or in old garbage cans with a Green Can sticker attached.  Bundles and containers must not block sidewalks, laneways or streets and weigh no more than 20 kg (44 lbs.) each. Sod, rocks, soil and plastic bags are not accepted.

Please be sure to keep any food scraps in the Green Cart and use the extra service just for yard trimmings.

Coquitlam’s Seasonal Unlimited Yard Trimmings program runs twice a year – once in the spring and once in the fall.
