Information Session on Cottonwood Park Nov.9

by Colleen Smith |

COQUITLAM, BC, November 8, 2016 – Coquitlam residents and neighbours are invited to provide feedback on the future development of Cottonwood Park.

The City is hosting an Information Session on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at Mountain View Elementary, 740 Smith Ave. Those interested in Cottonwood Park have the opportunity to give feedback on the proposed park amenities and priorities to create a vision and master plan for future development of the park.

The proposed Burquitlam Lougheed Neighbourhood Plan (www.coquitlam.ca/blnp) includes an extension to the Cottonwood Park boundaries to accommodate new park amenities and programming. The City of Coquitlam is undertaking a process to develop the conceptual design for the future expansion of Cottonwood Park to serve the growing Burquitlam neighbourhood.

Cottonwood Park is currently a 2.2 acre neighbourhood park with modest play and recreation amenities. It is anticipated that this park will become a significant community park that will provide a variety of sport, recreation, and cultural activities to the current and future residents of Burquitlam.

Those unable to attend the Information Session or seeking additional information, are encouraged to visit www.coquitlam.ca/parkplanning after Nov. 9 to view copies of the display materials and to provide their feedback via an online survey.

Ongoing updates on the future development of Cottonwood Park will also be posted to www.coquitlam.ca/parkplanning.
