Share your Viewpoint with the City of Coquitlam

by Michelle Frilund |

COQUITLAM, BC, April 28, 2017 Want more of a say about what’s happening in your community? Coquitlam residents age 16 and up are invited to join the City’s new Viewpoint online survey community.

Through Viewpoint, Coquitlam residents can anonymously provide their opinion on City issues, plans and services. Participants will be invited to participate in an average of two surveys per month and can choose to respond to all topics or just those that interest them, and all answers are confidential.

Any web-enabled computer or device can use the survey software by going to www.coquitlam.ca/viewpoint.

For residents, Viewpoint is a great way to stay informed about their city, make sure their voice is heard on matters they care about, and engage with the City at a time and location that suits them.

From the City’s perspective, the opinions collected through Viewpoint will be valuable in guiding City decisions and plans, because the scientific methods used to manage the database and results will ensure the results accurately reflect those of the entire community.

The City recognizes that while many people would like more of a say on City decisions, they may not be able to or want to participate in traditional public consultation methods such as open houses. Viewpoint will supplement – not replace – other consultation methods while providing residents with more opportunities to engage with the City.

Coquitlam residents age 16 and up can sign up. (Elected officials representing the City of Coquitlam, City employees and/or those living in the same household as a City employee or elected Coquitlam representative are excluded from the Viewpoint online survey community.)
