Free Coquitlam Event Encourages Outdoor Play

by Caitlin Osborne |

COQUITLAM, BC, May 9, 2017 – Kids will go wild for an upcoming event at Mundy Park aimed to encourage outdoor activity in the great outdoors.

Give your children some outdoor adventures at Coquitlam’s free Get Outside event on Saturday, May 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Research shows that time spent outdoors is beneficial for a healthy body, spirit and mind. Kids are naturally drawn to wildlife, and this family-oriented event is an opportunity to break away from the screens and get immersed in nature.

Drop in for games and activities, sports, an outdoor craft table and free face painting! A number of educational stalls will also be set up, offering information on how to stay safe and be prepared while adventuring outdoors.

This event is suitable for all ages and registration is not required. However, it is weather permitting. Please check the website ahead of time for updates.  www.coquitlam.ca/featuredprograms . Limited parking is available on site.

Those who are unable to make the event but are interested in Coquitlam’s outdoor recreation programs, including wilderness adventures and hiking programs for adults of all skill levels – can find out more at www.coquitlam.ca/outdoors.
