Free Summer Concert Series Hits a High Note in Coquitlam

COQUITLAM, BC, July 11, 2017 – Two stellar B.C. musicians will take to Coquitlam’s premier outdoor stage this Friday as the City kicks off its inaugural free Summer Concert Series, presented by Envision Financial.

Friday’s event, produced by the City of Coquitlam and sponsored by Envision Financial, is the first of three shows to take place throughout summer at Town Centre Park Plaza. The next concerts are set for Aug. 11 and Sept. 1, all from 7-9 p.m.

This spectacular venue is nestled along Lafarge Lake, offering views of the water and city skyline, and has seating for up to 1,300 in addition to grassy spaces to lay out blankets. Concert-goers are invited to bring blankets or chairs and can pack a picnic or purchase dinner from an on-site food truck.

The entertainment begins Friday, July 14, at 7 p.m. with the Joe Fernandes Band, also known as Dr. No, who is one of Vancouver’s top cover bands. It’s followed by Megan Twist at 8:15 p.m., who describes her style as country with a dash of folk and pop.

Aug. 11    Olivia Penalva | 7 – 7:30 p.m. 
               Andrew Allen | 8 – 9 p.m.

Sept. 1     Clavinova Nights Jazz Band | 7 – 7:45 p.m.
               Bruce James Orchestra | 8:15 – 9 p.m.

Town Centre Park, at 1299 Pinetree Way, is easily accessed by transit from Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain station and also has ample free parking in Lot D.
