Survey Says Coquitlam Residents Highly Satisfied

by Michelle Frilund |

COQUITLAM, BC, July 18, 2017 – The results of Coquitlam’s annual Citizen Satisfaction Survey are in and, once again, residents have given the City high marks.

The statistically-valid survey, conducted by Ipsos-Reid, asks a range of questions around quality of life, important issues, City services and financial planning. The survey also asked questions around communication with the City and civic engagement.

Some highlights from the survey results:

  • 98% of residents say they have a good quality of life in Coquitlam;
  • 95% of residents are satisfied with the services provided by the City;
  • 86% of residents say they receive good value for their municipal tax dollars;
  • 51% of residents prefer tax increases to maintain or expand services over 38% who would rather see services cut to maintain or decrease taxes.

The survey questioned 500 respondents with a representative distribution between ages, genders and neighbourhoods.

The results of the Citizen Satisfaction Survey help inform future corporate priorities and planning processes including budgeting, strategic planning and business planning.
