New Styrofoam Recycling for Coquitlam Residents

COQUITLAM, BC, Thursday, February 13, 2014 – Coquitlam residents can now recycle their Styrofoam products.

Clean, white polystyrene (e.g. Styrofoam) can be dropped off at the Coquitlam Construction Recycling & Yard Trimming Drop-off Facility (995 United Boulevard) from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

The free drop-off is for Coquitlam residents only, and proof of residency (e.g. a Driver’s Licence) is required. No commercial use is allowed.

Examples of acceptable items include:

  • White Styrofoam only
  • Styrofoam blocks
  • Electronics packing (foam sheets, blocks and film)
  • Clean foam food containers (clam shells, meat trays, plates)
  • White insulation board off cuts 

Examples of items that are not accepted include:

  • Expanding foam caulking
  • Dirty or contaminated foam
  • Hard plastic
  • Foam packing peanuts or packing noodles
  • Coloured Styrofoam
