Spirit of Coquitlam Grant Applications Available

COQUITLAM, BC, Friday, August 22, 2014 – The City of Coquitlam is currently accepting applications for the 2014 Spirit of Coquitlam Grant. Closing date for submissions is Monday, September 22, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. The Grant is focused on achieving the City’s goals by assisting local organizations to work collaboratively toward building a sense of community and a high quality of life for Coquitlam citizens. Consideration will be given to organizations:
  • engaging in public art, 
  • encouraging people to get active, 
  • hosting sporting events, 
  • planning festivals and events, or 
  • developing new initiatives aligned with the City’s strategic goals

For those wanting to apply for the grant, application workshops are held twice during the intake period to provide attendees with step-by-step instructions for completing the grant application. Workshops are highly recommended for all applicants to increase the chance of successful application. Pre-registration is required. Workshops will be held at Pinetree Community Centre, 1260 Pinetree Way.

The Spirit of Coquitlam Grant Program was created in 2002 to assist local organizations in purchasing equipment for their use and development, hosting events, and realizing capital projects to advance community goals. Since 2002, the City of Coquitlam has awarded $6.2 million to over 170 different organizations through the Spirit of Coquitlam Grant Program. Funding for the Spirit of Coquitlam Grant Program is derived from the Casino Host Agreement revenue.
