Coquitlam Crowd Jingles into History

by GS GS |

COQUITLAM, BC, Tuesday, December 23, 2014 – More than 500 people gathered at Coquitlam’s Lafarge Lake on Monday evening to be part of a record-setting group of people singing Jingle Bells together.

The singing along the shores of the lake was just one of many events that took place this month in the midst of the City’s ever-popular seasonal lights display as part of Coquitlam’s Park Spark program.

This unique volunteer program, launched in 2014, aims to bring Coquitlam’s parks alive by creating fun and meaningful experiences for the community within the City’s parks.

Video of the singing can be viewed at bitly.com/CoquitlamJingle. City staff will be submitting the video for official consideration as a new record. Results will be shared online at www.coquitlam.ca/parkspark and on the City’s social media channels.

The holiday light display will continue to shine nightly until January.  Video of the display can be viewed at bitly.com/coquitlamlights.

If you are interested in becoming a Park Spark volunteer, or have a project idea, visit www.coquitlam.ca/parkspark or email parkspark@coquitlam.ca.
