Spirit of Coquitlam Grants Available Soon

by Kevin Henkelman |

COQUITLAM, BC, Monday, August 24, 2015 – Beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 9:00 a.m., through to Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 4:00 p.m., the City of Coquitlam will be accepting applications for the fall intake of the 2015 Spirit of Coquitlam Grant.

The Grant is focused on achieving the City’s goals by assisting local organizations to work collaboratively toward a sense of community and a high quality of life for Coquitlam citizens.

Since 2002, the City of Coquitlam has awarded $7.12 million to over 180 different organizations.

Consideration will be given to organizations engaging in public art, encouraging people to get active, hosting sporting events, planning festivals and events, developing new initiatives aligned with the City’s strategic goals, and to those engaging in sanctioned Coquitlam 125 anniversary celebrations.

In 2016, Coquitlam will celebrate its 125th anniversary in a year-long celebration that honours the community’s rich history and sets the stage for a dynamic future. Coquitlam 125 sanctioned activities are an excellent way for community-based arts, heritage, cultural and sports organizations to contribute to making Coquitlam’s 125th anniversary a unique and memorable celebration.

More information on Coquitlam 125 and sanctioning events can be found at coquitlam.ca/Coquitlam125.
