Coquitlam to Offer Extra Yard Trimmings Collection

by Kevin Henkelman |

COQUITLAM, BC, Monday, August 31, 2015 – Following this weekend’s wind storm, the City of Coquitlam is offering extra unlimited yard waste collection.

From September 8 to September 11, residents receiving solid waste collection from the City can put out any extra yard trimmings for pick up.

In addition to your Green Cart, place any extra yard trimmings at your curbside by 7:30 a.m. on your regular collection day.

You can use kraft bags, your old garbage cans (or appropriate containers) with a Green Can sticker, or bundle tree prunings that are less than 7.5 cm (3 in) in diameter and no more than 1 metre (3 ft) in length. Extra cans and bundles should weigh no more than 20 kg (44 lbs) each.

Please keep any food scraps in the Green Cart and use the extra service just for yard trimmings.

For residents that do not wish to wait until next week and / or have yard waste that exceeds the requirements identified above, free residential drop-off is also available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Coquitlam Construction Recycling and Yard Trimmings Drop-Off Facility located at 995 United Boulevard. For more information visit coquitlam.ca/yardtrimmings.
