Full Schedule of Events – Kaleidoscope Arts Festival Aug. 12

COQUITLAM, BC, Aug. 3, 2017 – The full schedule of events for the much-anticipated Kaleidoscope Arts Festival is now available online, revealing a jam-packed list of entertainment offerings for all ages.

This free festival, presented by Kia West and produced by the City of Coquitlam, features live performances across two stages, an Art Zone, Artisan Market, Brew Corner and Food Truck Alley.

Round up your friends and family for this full-day event featuring live performances by headliner Bif Naked as well as The Paperboys, The Matinée, West My Friend, Derrival and Jennifer Hayes. Other highlights include circus performances, roving entertainers, dancers, art workshops and face painting.

It all takes place Saturday, Aug. 12, from 2-10 p.m. at Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park. The full schedule, listed below, can be viewed at

Plaza Stage, presented by Coast Capital Savings

2 p.m. – Jennifer Hayes: Her crystal clear voice and smooth vocal stylings have earned her a respected place on the West Coast jazz circuit.

2:45 p.m. – Official Opening and Tiny Stories Winners: Listen to the winning entries of Tiny Stories contest read by the authors.

3:30 p.m. – West My Friend: An indie-roots group with an acoustic blend of instruments and four-part harmonies that challenge the conventional.

5 p.m. – Derrival: This Vancouver-based indie-rock outfit combines synth-heavy elements with guitar-driven hooks and catchy melodies.

6:30 p.m. – The Matinée: This powerhouse roots-rock band is gaining a loyal following across North America and has snagged a string of prominent festival bookings.

8:30 p.m. – Bif Naked: Known for pushing the boundaries, this B.C. icon gets set to rock in what is guaranteed to be a blazing live performance.

Engage Stage

3 p.m. – V’ni Dansi’s Louis Riel Métis Dancers: A unique performance dedicated to sharing the dances, stories and culture of the Métis.

4:15 p.m. – The Red Ball Show & Workshop: Dianna David’s magnetic spirit and multiple talents allure audiences through a routine that fuses dance with juggling and comedy.

5:45 p.m. – The Big Topp Show: Highly skilled performers conduct amazing feats involving circus acts, music and theatre.

7:30 p.m. – The Paperboys: This Juno-award winning group delivers a free-wheeling blend of influences from Celtic and bluegrass to brass bands and Canadian roots.

Art Zone

  • Musical Experience with Long & McQuade: Try out a variety of instruments, from flutes to trombones, with the help of experienced staff.
  • The Creative Colours of Canada with Place des Arts: Add your own thread to a commemorative flag tapestry in this collaborative community art project.
  • Origami Art with Place des Arts: Craft an origami heart necklace using ribbon and papers.
  • Body Art: Get your face painted or opt for some temporary body art.
  • Tiny Story Writing with the Coquitlam Public Library: Learn about the art of the “tiny story” and craft your own tiny story.\

Artisan Market

Peruse the artisan market for one-of-a-kind pieces including jewelry, artwork and specialty items. An ATM is on site for your convenience.

Food Truck Alley

Purchase a bite to eat, including a number of vegetarian options, from the numerous food trucks on site.

Brew Corner

Purchase drinks from on-site merchants Mariner Brewing, Hearthstone Brewery and Lonetree Cider. Drink tickets are $6 each (cash only).

  • Watch for roving entertainers, the Dragonflies.
