These kits can save thousands of litres per year as well as foster a conscious effort to conserve water in and around the household.

Cost: $6.00 plus tax

  • 1 low-flow shower head: uses less than 8 L/min (regular shower heads use up to 18.9 L/min).
  • 1 swivel kitchen faucet aerator: mixes air into the water stream while maintaining a steady water pressure. Uses less than 6 L/min of water, almost 50% less than some faucets without aerators.
  • 1 bathroom sink faucet aerator: uses less than 6 L/min of water, almost 50% less than some faucets without aerators.  
  • 2 leak detection dye tablets: an easy solution to test for water leaks from the tank to the bowl.
  • 1 toilet tank bag: displaces water in your tank resulting in a savings of 3.2 L/flush.
  • 1 roll of teflon tape: to install the showerhead and aerators, and prevents leakage from connections.

Cost: $8.00 plus tax

  • 1 Melnor mechanical hose timer: "egg timer" design shuts water off when you have reached a maximum of 60 minutes.
  • 1 Melnor 7-pattern hand nozzle: spray head, patterns for all your watering needs.
  • 1 sprinkler/rain gauge: to monitor the amount of water lawns receive from sprinklers and rainfall.
  • 12 hose washers: general purpose washers that prevents leakage at connection points.

Pickup:

At the time of purchase, residents receive a receipt that they must present when picking up their Rain Barrel.  Rain Barrels can be picked up on Fridays at the Coquitlam Service Centre (500 Mariner Way) between 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
