Within the last 35 years, the amount of waste each person creates has almost doubled per day. In a sustainable community, waste is not a problem to be disposed of, but a resource to be used and reused. Responsible waste management involves:

- Reuse of waste materials
- Recycling of goods
- Buying products made from recycled content
These actions save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by decreasing the consumption of raw materials and energy used during manufacturing, transportation, and disposal.
Green Can
We want your leftovers! Put your food scraps and yard trimmings in your Green Can and we’ll recycle it into compost!
Blue Box Recycling
Give us your paper, glass, metal & plastics and we’ll give them a second life!
Multi-Family Recycling
Live in an apartment building and want to do your part? The City offers a recycling program to multi-family homes.
Large Item Pick Up
Have you got large household furniture that you no longer need or can’t find a new home for? We can collect it for you.
