Viewing: Cat

Kittens!

The shelter currently has some kittens looking for their new homes. Come up to the shelter to see what we have waiting for their new homes!

Please note...the kittens we have at the shelter are not the ones in the picture. We use a stock photo since there are just too many kittens to post!

All the animals that arrive at the Shelter are stray. The information that we have on the animals has been gathered since their arrival at the Shelter, with the help of our volunteers. We do our best to assess the animals and disclose everything we know regarding health and temperament to interested adopters.

Adoption applications are available at the Shelter only. The application review process can take between 24-48 hours. The Shelter does NOT do same day adoptions.

Violet

Violet is a sweet girl who has been with us for some time. Violet is looking for a cat free home as she really doesn't enjoy the company of all these other cats. Violet has been in two homes that returned her because she started peeing outside the box, and we think having other animals in the home could be the problem. We would love to find someone who is willing to give Violet a chance in a pet free enviroment to see if she continues to have accidents. We have run all types of tests and tried different medications to help her, but we think a quiet home will be the best thing for Violet.

Trooper

Poor Trooper had a bit of a rough time adjusting to shelter life, it's taken him awhile to adjust to this busy place! But now we are seeing the real Trooper, a sweet and cuddly boy who will come out and rub up against your shins to get some attention. Trooper is likely around 10 years old but in good health, he's even lost some weight since arriving. Trooper isn't a big fan of the other cats and tends to keep his distance, he may be happiest in a feline free home.

Dee Dee will hiss at you, but she doesn't really mean it, because she'll then let you pet her. She would do best in a home with another friendly feline, and no kids.

Katniss

Katniss came to our attention almost a year ago after moving into a residents shed to have kittens. After numerous attempts to catch her we finally managed to get her and her three kittens. Katniss had obviously been out on her own for some time as she is very timid around people, but seems to prefer men to women. We would love to find Katniss a quiet and easy going home where she can relax and enjoy life. She gets along well with the other cats and even cuddles up with the other scardey cats.

Spunky

Spunky came to the shelter after his owner passed away and has had a hard time adjusting. He's starting to relax and we're happy to see him happier. Spunky needs a patient and quiet home that will allow him the time to adjust yet again to a new enviorment. Spunky is quiet and mellow and just wants a nice quiet cuddle. He sticks to himself mostly but may be okay in a home with a cat that has a similar temperment.

Lara

Lara is a sweet girl who arrived at the shelter with a number of siblings who have all been adopted. Lara had a hard time adjusting to shelter life and spent some time in a foster home. We believe that the cats must have had almost no socialization as kittens and it can take some cats years to overcome their fears. Lara is still a shy cat, but with a gentle hand and a few treats you can win her over.

Lara would do best in a home with another cat as she is very comfortable with other cats. There are a few at the shelter currently that she is quite bonded too. Lara would be a candidate for the shelter's Foster Program, please contact the shelter for more info.

Rocky - Medical Foster Needed

Update Aug 2014 - We are currently looking for a quiet foster home for Rocky while we diagnose some medical issues he has encountered. If you have a quiet, pet free home and some experience with cats please contact the shelter for more info.

Rocky and Nero arrived at the shelter after their owner moved and left them behind. They are a cute pair as Rocky is a petite little cat and Nero is a much more robust cat. Rocky is a bit shy and has a quiet disposition but loves affection once he's gotten to know you. We often find Rocky hiding behind his big buddy Nero but he's starting to feel more confident and hang out on his own. They boys don't  necessarily need to be adopted together but we always like to try and keep bonded friends together. The boys are around 2-4 years old and in good health. Nero doesn't seem to like the other cats as much as Rocky so he may be happier as the only cat.

Hayley is a sweet girl with a gentle disposition who was found near a local mall. We can't imagine why someone wouldn't come looking for her as she is such an affectionate and beautiful cat. Hayley isn't as fond of cats as she is of people so might need to be the only cat in the home, or live with a mellow male cat.

She is a playful cat who can't get enough of playing with feather wands or string. Lana is quiet and affectionate and would make a great addition to any family. Lana has been doing well around the other cats as long as they don't bother her too much, so would likely do fine in a home with a cat with a similar personality.

Bento

Bento is big girl with a sweet disposition. She's adjusted well to shelter life and is more mobile than she looks! We often find Bento on the top of kennels or cat trees so her weight doesn't slow her down. Bento's a friendly and chatty cat who would likely do well in just about any home. She's keeping to herself but is co-existing well with the other cats.

Sandy is a young boy, likely around 1.5 years old. He needs a quiet and patient home as he was undersocialized as a kitten and is a little wary of people. Sandy spent some time in a foster home and has come back to get even more socialization around people. He's become more curious but still tends to stay at arms lenght of new people. Sandy loves other cats and we often find him cuddled up in a pile of cats, some of which are  his siblings. Sal

Poor Sal is finding shelter life a bit tough, he's quite overwhelmed and scared. He tends to hide in safe spots, usually with one of the cats he came to the shelter with. He's already improved by being out in the open and we have no doubt he'll come even farther in no time. It's a pretty scary place to find  yourself when you are a shy guy! Sal would need a quiet and low energy home that will allow him to continue to grow more confident.

Annie

Annie is a shy little girl who arrived at the shelter with her siblings, who she's still quite bonded to. Annie is the more outgoing of the cats and we've seen her start to adventure out from her hiding spot. Slow and steady is the way to win this little one over. We would recommend she go to an adult only home as kids would easily overwhelm her with their energy.

Lynx

Lynx is a beautiful girl who arrived at the shelter last year in rough shape. We are guessing she was hit by a car and had some damage to her tail, which had to be amputated. There was some nerve damage done which has resulted in Lynx being slightly incontinent. She does go to the box, but sometimes things just happen and we don't think she realizes. Lynx is one of the friendliest cats and will jump up on your lap or climb on your shoulder for attention. She is playful and loves the other cats, especially kittens!

Lynx does require a special diet for urinary tract health to ensure she doesn't get a bladder infection. Lynx would be a candidate for our Foster Program, contact the shelter for more info!

Billy Ninja

Billy Ninja was a tough nut to crack, he was very scared and  upset when he first arrived at the shelter. After giving him some space and allowing him to come to us on his terms, we've found him to be a pretty friendly guy. He still has a ways to come as he can get a little nervous with new people so we would recommend an adult only home for him at this time. Billy has mostly been sticking to himself and is a little nervous around the other cats still so might be happiest in a home with just one cat.

Mojo

Mojo is one of the biggest cats we've had come through the shelter, he's nearly 24lbs!! He's a large boy and just a little overweight so he'll need a home that can facilitate a big cat. Mojo is around 12 years old and has been in good health since he arrived. His fur is a bit dandruffy and a good quality diet will help make his coat smooth and shiny. Mojo has been doing well with the other cats and would likely do well in a multi cat home.
