  12 – 1 p.m. │Canada Day Opening Procession

  Join Mayor and Council in celebrating Canada’s birthday with a procession to the TD Community Plaza. This exciting parade will begin at the east entrance of Community Drive and wind its way through the event site.

  12 – 12:30  p.m. │ Bloco Energia | Leading the Canada Day Procession 

  A percussion collective of people brought together by their passion for Brazilian music and dance. They deliver high energy performances in parades, festivals and charitable events throughout the lower mainland. 

   

  2 – 2:​45 p.m. │ Will Stroet

  JUNO nominee Will Stroet, the star of the TV series Will’s Jams on CBC Kids and Kidoodle TV, inspires kids to be active, healthy, creative and engaged in the world through educational music in English and French.

   

  3:30 – 4:15 p.m. ​│ Locarno

  Locarno is the Latin project of JUNO Award winning musician, Tom Landa who was born in Mexico and moved to Canada in his teens. ​The​ band plays Latin idioms, as well as traditional Mexican folk songs. Th​eir CD,  ‘Luz Y Sombra’ was nominated for a Western Canada Music Award in the spring of 2016.

   

  5 – 5:45 p.m. ​│​ Speed Control
  Straight out of -40 degrees in Canada’s Yukon, Graeme Peters, brother Jody Peters, and Ian March form the power trio, Speed Control. The three members all come from a jazz and classical background but have turned to their true passion – rock n’ roll. 
  

   

  6:30 – 7:30 p.m. │ Lion Bear Fox
  Harken the era of the man band! Three huge voices join in mighty harmony through compelling story, honest narrative and unbridled passion. Performing gripping dynamic songs with genuine sincerity, a Lion Bear Fox show is a collection of intimate moments shared through songs about hope, sorrow, love and joy. 

   

  8:30 – 10 p.m. │Delhi 2 Dublin
  Get ready for the live-electronic, bhangra, hip-hop, world-pop, hybrid act whose concerts have been likened to '90 minutes of freebasing joy'. Famous for their energy onstage, the four member band has played over 100 shows a year for the last decade. D2D features a heavy electronic backbone with live traditional Indian instruments (dhol, tabla), fiddle, electric guitar, and Punjabi-English vocals.

  1 – 2 p.m. │ Golden Maple Culture and Arts Association

  The Golden Maple Culture & Arts Association is a non-profit organization that provides classes such as traditional folk dance, fitness dance, modelling and Chinese song. On Canada Day, enjoy listening to Chinese songs: Big Fish, Mom & Baby, Super Star, Three Monks and Cheers Friends; as well as a collection of dances: Fashion, Singing in the Western Regions, Waltz of the Flowers and Good Luck.

  2 – 2:30 p.m. | Yongho Martial Arts Demonstration

  Yongho Martial Arts teaches Hapkido, a highly eclectic Korean martial art formed of self-defence, kicking, striking, throwing, grappling, tumbling, weapons and Judo. Come watch a short performance of the Hapkido on the grass in front of the Meadow Stage.

  2:45 – 3 :30 p.m. | Tropical Heat

  Tropical Heat is a steel drum band musically fluent in Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Latin, folk songs and jazz standards. Steelpans, also known as steel drums or pans is a musical instrument originating from Trinidad and Tobago. The pan is struck using a pair of straight sticks tipped with rubber. The music is full of love and colour and fills any event with a festive, fun vibe!

   4:15 – 5 p.m. │ Silk Road

  A musical adventure that explores China and beyond. Through thousands of concerts around the world, Silk Road Music delivers virtuosity and imagination. A traditional Chinese Pipa (lute) weaving around a colourful thread of world instruments: Flamenco guitar, Indian flute, Middle Eastern Oud and world percussion. This is a new breed of Canadian multicultural music.

  5:45 – 6:30 p.m. │ Tiller’s Folly

  Celebrating their 20th anniversary, Tiller’s Folly are modern day storytellers, uniting the past with the present. ​They have performed across Canada, the British Isles and the USA sharing their memorable blend of energy, history, musicality, romance and just plain fun. Tiller’s award-winning productions​ provide a potent mix of acoustic & electric based, Celtic influenced Canadiana, Americana, Newgrass and beyond. 

   

  7:30 – 8:30 p.m. │ Mostly Marley

  The band's name stems from being asked, "What kind of music do you play?" The answer would always be, "Classic Reggae by various artists, but mostly Marley."  Mostly Marley performs with passion while always remaining true to the spirit of Reggae. They will take you on a musical odyssey​ – with good times to be had by all.
