Coquitlam Celebrates Canada Day 2013

Celebrate Canada’s 146th birthday with Coquitlam! Join us along the shores of Lafarge Lake for a fun filled day of festival favourites!

Getting here

On July 1, there will be limited parking available in the Town Centre Park area.We encourage you to walk, bike, carpool or use transit. There are a number of buses that stop within a block or two of the festival site; 97 B-Line, 179, C27, C28.

You are welcome to use the main parking lots to the north end of Town Centre Park and walk down the trails to the festival site. Free parking is also available at Douglas College surface and the underground lots, as well as at other locations.

Evergreen Cultural Centre parking lot, parking lot A, and a north bound lane on Pinetree Way will be closed for the event.

Adventure Zone

Get moving in the adventure zone! There are activities for all ages. Sign up for the Celebrate Canada Hockey Tournament, take a canoe ride on beautiful Lafarge Lake or climb to new heights on our climbing wall!

Artisan Village

12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Experience BC artists’ best in Coquitlam. From handmade jewellery, clothing and accessories to paintings, photography, and pottery, the market will showcase a huge variety of talent! Shop, browse and learn their techniques. Artisans will be selling from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Community Village

12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Come see what’s going on in your community! Booths from organizations and businesses around Coquitlam will be on site at Canada Day.
Cultural Village

12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
The Cultural Village celebrates Canada’s cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity and showcases our many cultural traditions. Come see some of your community’s diversity!

Every hour in the Cultural Village a new performer will be on-site demonstrating a traditional art form – from martial arts to music and dance come see talents from around the world!
Green Village

12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Returning to the festivities this year is the Green Village, an area of all things sustainable! Stop by to get tips on conserving water or advice on keeping your garden pesticide free. Kids can create recycling crafts and participate in other fun activities!
