The Inspiration Garden is dedicated to growing, developing and supporting gardeners in the community. Drop by and bee inspired!

Location & Hours of Operation

We're located in Town Centre Park, corner of Guildford Way and Pipeline Road (map). Open to the public, dawn to dusk. The garden is staffed Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Check for the garden host on duty sign.

Plant of the Week – Lady's Mantle, Alchemilla mollis

Lady's mantle is a herbaceous perennial whose foliage looks good in the garden all season long. Tiny yellow/green flowers appear in late spring. 

Ask the Gardener

On Thursday evenings our knowledgeable garden host is available to answer all your gardening questions.

Composting

We will teach you the steps to proper composting, the various methods and introduce different styles of bins. 16+ years | Register Now

Moss Hanging Baskets

A hands-on seminar where you will be making your own summer blooming hanging basket.  All supplies and instructions will be provided. 16+ years | Register Now

East Meets West: Tea, Culinary and Medicinal Uses in China

Tea is both a beverage and a medicine. Sample many types of tea, including those grown and harvested locally in the Pacific Northwest. Many weight loss and other herbal formulas use tea as their chief ingredient. 16+ years | Register Now

Kids in the Garden: Composting

Celebrate International Composting Awareness Week at the Inspiration Garden.  Learn why composting is important through hands-on activities.  6 – 10 years | Register Now

School Tours

Explore the garden, learn all about its plants and let us show you how a garden grows! Register your school class and attend one of these informative and interactive workshops.

Days: Wednesdays & Thursday, March 18 – June 25 | Maximum 2 classes/per session

Volunteer Opportunities

Join our team and become an Inspiration Garden Volunteer. It's an opportunity to give back to the community and learn gardening skills in a friendly atmosphere. Our orientation sessions take place on the first Saturday of every month.

Youth Volunteer Program

Youth aged 12 to 17 are encouraged to join our program to learn new skills, meet new friends and gain valuable volunteer experience. Starting March, volunteering will take place on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Community Gardens

The community garden at the Inspiration garden features 36 raised plots that are available to rent on a yearly basis to Coquitlam residents (18+ years). At this time, there are no garden plots available however, if you would like to add your name to the waitlist, please complete and submit the online Garden Plot Request Form.
