A project has been awarded to Lafarge Canada Inc. to expand the parking lot at City Centre Aquatic Complex adding approximately 60 new parking stalls. The scope of work includes some tree and brush removal, back filling, storm work, electrical work for new lighting, paving with lane markings, followed by landscaping and restoration work.
Construction is anticipated to commence mid-July with completion mid-September, in time for the 55+BC Senior Games. Construction activity will be scaled back the week of August 15 during the provincial swim championships. Construction will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7a.m. and 7 p.m. with some occasional Saturday work.
Visitors can park at Evergreen Cultural Centre as an alternative; however pedestrian access is affected. View the CCAC Pedestrian Access Map for details.
There will be no access to the parking lot from August 22 to August 29 during the annual maintenance closure. Street parking will be available.
