City Centre Public Library
The City of Coquitlam purchased the ground floor portion of a building located at 1169 Pinetree Way to relocate and expand the City Centre Public Library.
Coquitlam City Council approved $15 million in funding to accommodate the much needed space for a new library in the city centre neighbourhood which continues to enjoy ongoing expansion.
The new library will include:
- New Release Display
- Collection Display
- Reference Resources
- Non Fiction Collection
- Fiction Collection
- Video, CD, Audio and EBook Collections
- Dedicated Multi-Cultural and Multi-Lingual Collection
- Dedicated Teen space
- Dedicated Children’s Section
- Computer Lab/Sandbox/Training Room
- Additional 15 to 20 Computer workstations
- Wi-Fi access throughout
- Raised Fireplace Lounge
- Comfortable Lounge and seating areas throughout library
- Open Reading Room
- 6 Silent Study Rooms
- Coffee Station/Café/Coffee Shop
- 3 Multi-Purpose Rooms which can be joined to create a 2,600sf room
- “Gallery Wall” for art and community displays
- Additional Self Serve Check Outs
