Recreation & Community

With programs and recreation activities for all ages, along with its fully-equipped pools, community centres, libraries and an arena, residents enjoy a wide range of leisure activities.  Plus, the City currently provides 68 parks featuring trails and bike paths, playgrounds, sportsfields and picnic areas.  Community also includes volunteering funding opportunities and the Coquitlam Animal Shelter services.

Parks & Trails

Coquitlam has over 80 municipal Parks and Natural Areas totalling over 2,200 acres. The parks and trails include features ranging from picnic areas and playgrounds, to outdoor pools, spray parks, sportsfields and skateboard parks. 

Coquitlam supports environmental stewardship and education through special events, stewardship group support, the Bear Aware Program, Adopt a Trail Program, Nature and Outdoor Pursuit Programs and many other environmental initiatives. 

Pets & Animals

At Coquitlam's Animal Shelter you can adopt a pet, report a stray or lost pet, volunteer or donate to the animals, and visit the Shelter.  Plus, learn about owner responsibilities, dogs off leash and the City's animal care policies.

Arts & Culture

Experience Coquitlam's rich history and growing arts and cultural community at the Evergreen Cultural Centre, Place Maillardville, Mackin House, Place des Arts and other cultural sites in the area.

City Centre Library

The New City Centre Library will feature expanded space and parking areas and will ensure that Library facilities in the City Centre meet the needs of the community.
