Significant improvements were completed during September 2019. A beloved Burquitlam-Lougheed area park for decades, the 5.3-acre (2.2-hectare) green space was identified as a priority for redevelopment to meet the needs of the evolving neighbourhood.
Broader range of recreation options for the neighbourhood
Enhanced access to and within the park
Expanded programming opportunities
A half-size sports court
Lawn areas and gardens
Social plaza with seating and picnic tables
Trails and accessible walking paths
The park’s existing features include a natural turf sports field, a paved 32-stall parking lot, a lawn area and gravel paths.
Upgrades and extension of the funding for the upgrades included a $400,000 contribution from the Onni Group.
