A tree hazard assessment was recently completed in Leigh Park in response to a number of tree failures. The assessment confirmed that approximately 50 hazardous trees within the bike skills zone need to be removed to ensure the safety of park users and adjacent residents, as well as the long-term health of the forest.
Replanting of a mix of native trees and shrubs that are better suited to the specific site conditions will take place in the fall.
