[ARCHIVED] Older Adults Can Get Active with Free Recreation Program

Coquitlam

COQUITLAM, BC, Jan. 7, 2020 – Coquitlam is excited to be continuing a partnership with BC Recreation & Parks Association (BCRPA) to bring you the free program Choose to Move. The program aims to help those 65 years and older become more active, especially if they haven’t been active in recent years.

Choose to Move is a six-month program, based on scientific evidence, to promote greater physical activity among people aged 65 and older, who are not regularly active. Working with a trained Activity Coach, participants develop a physical activity plan customized to their needs, interests, goals, resources, and abilities. Led by a BCRPA-registered fitness leader with a specialty in programming for older adults, the sessions are held at Dogwood Pavilion (1655 Winslow Ave.).
