[ARCHIVED] Online Summer Concert Series Kicks Off July 10

COQUITLAM, B.C., July 3, 2020 – Latin, pop, country, dance and other musical acts will heat up screens across Coquitlam on Friday nights this summer in this year’s online Summer Concert Series at Home.

Presented virtually this year due to the pandemic, the free six-part series brings a talented and eclectic mix of performers to the screen on July 10, 17, 24, 31 and Aug. 7 and 14 through www.coquitlam.ca/summerconcerts.

Back for its fourth year, the series is typically presented at Town Centre Park. This year, viewers are encouraged to order takeout and to plan watch parties at home with your bubble. Different Coquitlam restaurants will be featured during each concert as well, as part of the City’s commitment to supporting local businesses.

Get Ready to Dance July 10 and 17

The first two high-energy acts are sure to get viewers up out of their seats and dancing.

Performing July 10, Mazacote is a hard-hitting six-piece act performing world and Latin music influenced by Afro-Caribbean percussion and tropical party sounds. Expect Latin dance beats from this career band, who have performed together since 2009.

On July 17, watch for singer songwriter Paul Filek, as he performs a variety of upbeat and fun tunes. Paul’s confident, accomplished songwriting is evidenced by his charting success on Canadian radio.

Presented by Coquitlam Centre, produced by the City of Coquitlam and filmed by Hubcast Media Productions, the shows will be available for viewing on-demand from 5 p.m. on the Friday concert date to the following Monday at 8 a.m. Coquitlam Centre also sponsors the City’s summer surveys.
