[ARCHIVED] Mark Your Calendars – Virtual Town Hall Meeting April 29

City Hall Coquitlam Sign

COQUITLAM, B.C., April 13, 2021 – Coquitlam residents and business owners are invited to participate in the City’s Virtual Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, April 29 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Coquitlam’s annual Town Hall Meeting takes place virtually this year. Public participation in the Town Hall will be conducted by electronic means and in person attendance is not permitted in accordance with the Provincial Health Officer’s Order (Events and Gatherings) and Ministerial Order #192.

What Happens at Town Hall Meetings

There is no set agenda at a Town Hall meeting. Instead, community members have an opportunity to voice their opinions, suggest new ideas and ask questions of City Council. Senior City staff also participate in order to respond to inquiries.

Feedback provided during the Town Hall Meeting provide Council and staff important information from residents and businesses about City services, changes taking place in the community and future opportunities.

How to Participate

All are welcome to participate and those interested in watching the virtual Town Hall meeting live can visit www.coquitlam.ca/webcasts or register for and attend the Zoom Webinar. Registration information can be found at www.coquitlam.ca/townhall. Those who are unable to view live will be able to watch the recording posted at www.coquitlam.ca/webcasts by April 30 at 12 p.m.

Participants can ask questions, comment or provide feedback in various methods.

Questions will be accepted until 8:30 p.m. on April 29, 2021. Those submitted during the Town Hall Meeting will be presented to Council in the order they were received. Due to time limitations, if there are several questions that are similar, only one question may be put to Council. As such, not all questions may receive a response; however, every effort will be made to address as many as possible.

To ensure everyone has access to submitted questions and responses, they will be provided at www.coquitlam.ca/townhall following the completion of the meeting. Questions to Council must follow the City’s guidelines for a respectful meeting. Find details at www.coquitlam.ca/townhall

Participants are advised that by submitting a question, comment or suggestion, the information you provide will become part of the public record. The information collected and used is done so in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
