[ARCHIVED] Stay Connected with Free Wi-Fi Around Coquitlam

COQUITLAM, BC, June 24, 2020 – Looking to stay connected while on the go or enjoying the outdoors in Coquitlam? Free Wi-Fi is available at dozens of parks and public amenities across the city.

The City is continually improving its network of free Wi-Fi spots as part of its ongoing drive to improve services and become a more connected community. The growing network of 32 spots, with one more coming this year, is more important than ever right now as the COVID-19 pandemic ramps up the use and need for digital communications.

The free Wi-Fi allows Coquitlam residents to get outdoors while staying socially connected and being able to access information, such as the free CoquitlamSPIRIT programs (www.coquitlam.ca/spirit), the upcoming online Canada Day event and City services through the CoquitlamConnect app (www.coquitlam.ca/coquitlamconnect).

Locations of Coquitlam’s free Wi-Fi can be found on the CoquitlamConnect app and on a map at www.coquitlam.ca/wifi. A major expansion of the network has taken place in 2019 and 2020 as part of a two-year plan to double the number of public Wi-Fi locations in the City.

  • Evergreen Cultural Centre
  • Town Centre Park in 13 locations, including the fields at the north end, Percy Perry Stadium, sport and tennis courts, skate park, spray park, the Inspiration Garden, the Innovation Centre and around the TD Community Plaza

Rochester Park has also been added and is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

Wi-Fi hot spots in the north-east sector, include:

  • Victoria Park/Community Hall
