Eateries to Score Your Fully-Cooked Holiday Dinner in Coquitlam

Tourism Coquitlam News Flash

COQUITLAM, B.C., Dec. 18, 2020 –  Why not make life a little easier this holiday season? Give yourself a day off from cooking so you can spend more time relaxing with your household and less time washing up pots and pans. We’ve rounded up a list of restaurants in Coquitlam where you can buy a fully-cooked holiday dinner – plus treats – for your holiday and New Years Eve celebrations.

Many local restaurants offer a classic turkey feast, or you may want to explore a new cuisine and taste how the holidays are celebrated outside of Canada. You can dine in, with physical-distancing measures in place, or take-out your dinner to eat in the comfort of your own home. Either way, you’re supporting local and dialling down the time factor that involves prepping for these holiday meals. Cheers to that!

Open on Christmas Day

It’s a year for new traditions. Many of us will be having smaller celebrations this year, and if the size of your at-home bubble doesn’t justify roasting a whole turkey, here are some great excuses to skip straight to the fun part – eating.

Sun Star Restaurant
Specializing in Chinese and Western dishes, there’s something for all tastes at this local favourite. Dine in or take-out – and they’re open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Popular dishes at Sun Star Restaurant include the tried-and-true ginger beef, sweet and sour pork, butter almond chicken, and house special chow mein/fried rice.

Denny’s isn’t just for breakfast. Tuck into a traditional turkey dinner with carved turkey breast, stuffing, garlic red-skinned mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce and your choice of broccoli or sweet petite corn, with orders for a group of four. You can stop in to eat or pick up cold to reheat at home. You can also order your choice of a whole pumpkin or pecan pie! Open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Deer Garden Restaurant
This authentic Chinese restaurant is located at Henderson Place Mall in City Centre. For the holidays, Deer Garden Restaurant is offering a special promotion that feeds 4-6 people and includes hot and sour soup, sweet and sour pork, stir-fried vegetables, chicken fried rice and pork chow mein all for $59.99.

Traditional Meals

Whether you’re looking for a Christmas or New Year’s Eve meal, you’ll find your old favourites at the following Coquitlam locations. At some, you can order ahead to have your meal ready for Christmas Day.

ABC Country Restaurant
This is comfort food at its finest. At ABC Country Restaurant Coquitlam, located off Schoolhouse in south Coquitlam, choose from dine-in or take-out that includes turkey or pot roast dinner options. Closed Dec. 25.

Cactus Club
Cactus Club Café is putting a spin on their holiday offerings. Their Holiday Dinner for Two features a three-course menu including signature Cactus dishes like Jack Daniel's Ribs, Grilled Dijon Salmon and the Feenie Burger. Take-out only on Christmas Eve, closed Dec. 25.

The Coquitlam Grill
Whether you’re ordering take-out or dining in, order the classic Roasted Turkey Dinner with carved roasted turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes topped with gravy and served with vegetables, cranberry sauce and garlic bread. If turkey isn’t your thing, opt for The Coquitlam Grill’s Yankee Pot Roast with beef, gravy, country fried potatoes, vegetables and garlic bread. Closed Dec. 25.

Joey Restaurants
Order the perfect turkey dinner this holiday without the fuss or mess. Joey's is offering pre-orders for full turkey dinners with all the fixings that serve four to six people and will be available for pickup on Dec. 23 or 24 (while supplies last). Enjoy holiday favourites like the oven roasted turkey with gravy and garlic mashed potatoes, as well as dishes with a new twist like caramelized apple and sage stuffing. Closed Dec. 25.

The Keg Steakhouse & Bar
Until Jan. 3, the Keg Steakhouse and Bar in Coquitlam is offering a dine-in feature menu including a Kansas City striploin bone-in with garlic chive butter served with your choice of side. And don't forget about NYE! You can ring in the New Year with their take-out feature: a 7oz filet mignon or 12oz New York steak and a lobster tail with sides, dessert and special bottle of bubbly. Closed Dec. 25.

Milestones’ turkey dinner is available now for dine-in (open until 11 p.m. Christmas Eve), pickup or delivery until Dec. 27. Available in single, Mile Size (for two or more) and Kids servings so the whole family is taken care of. Closed Dec. 25.

The Fairways Grill & Patio at Westwood Golf and Country Club
If you're looking for an upscale dine-in option on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, make your booking for Westwood Golf Course’s Fairways Grill & Patio. They’ll be offering a three-course meal, where you can choose between a delicious grilled AAA ribeye or a seafood trio for your main. Also, while supplies last, you can order a fully cooked lamb or turkey dinner for six to ten people for pick up on Dec. 18, 19 or 20. Closed Dec. 25.

White Spot
Order an at-home, heat and serve traditional turkey dinner for two. This White Spot package includes turkey breast, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, cranberry sauce and gravy. And if you’re still hungry for dessert, order a personal-sized seasonal pie baked in a flaky pie crust or opt for a pumpkin pie shake with real pumpkin pie and vanilla bean ice cream, topped with whipped cream. Closed Dec. 25.
