This long-time City of Coquitlam group fitness instructor is on a mission to share her positive message and encourage everyone to keep active.

“Moving our bodies is key to maintaining a healthy heart, muscle mass, bone density and even helps decrease stress. Movement not only makes us feel stronger, it makes us feel good and happy!
Fitness is so important for self-care, and despite the difficulties we face with the pandemic, we can still find ways to move our bodies each day to make “Fit Happen” – yes we can!
Be creative! Brainstorm with your family and friends to create a list of all the different ways you can move each day. It can be as simple as going for a walk outdoors in fresh air, or climbing up and down your stairs. You can even add resistance to activities by filling milk jugs or bottles with water to make weights.
How about putting on your favorite music and dancing? Choose something you enjoy and keep it fun! We can all make our “Fit Happen.” Do it for yourself because you are important, and your body deserves love.
You can even join myself and other City of Coquitlam instructors from home with live-streamed virtual group fitness classes! There are lots of opportunities to be active, and we encourage you to stay open minded so you can keep finding ways to move your because fitness is essential for everyone.”
