Outdoor Pools Now Open

Eagle Ridge and Spani Pools


Make a splash at our outdoor pools! Eagle Ridge and Spani outdoor pools are now open for the season with pre-registration required 48-hours in advance. Bookings are accepted for individual and family swimming.
 
Limited capacity, physical distance, enhanced cleaning and disinfecting, and other measures are in place to protect the safety of staff and the public.

#YouthWeek and Beyond


#YouthWeek 2021 is coming to a close, but there is always a variety of programs and activities in our rec centres. Drop-in to the Youth Centres for group activities, social support and public information. Or pre-register for swimming, skating and weight room access.
 
Did you hear? We’re starting an all-levels YOUth Sport League this fall – just for fun! Register for basketball, badminton and volleyball programs now and get some exercise with friends, gain experience and practice before it starts.

Safe Outdoor Kids’ Programs

Close to Home on Burke Mountain


Looking for safe, recreation options for your kids to learn a new skill or sport and connect with others outdoors? Good news – outdoor sports programs for children ages three to 15 are starting in May at the field behind Smiling Creek Activity Centre (3456 Princeton Ave.).
 
Programs include Afternoon Sports, I Can Run, Jump and Throw, Multi-Ball, Soccer and Volleyball.

Park Spark Youth Pop-up (13 – 18 yrs)

Fun #YouthWeek Activities


Join the Park Spark team on Friday, May 7 at Blue Mountain Park (975 King Albert Ave.) or Saturday, May 8 at Mackin Park (1046 Brunette Ave.) for some outdoor fun. There are five time slots available between 12:30 – 7 p.m. and pre-registration is required. Participate in fun activities, games and hang out with the Park Spark team.

Now Open – Across the Street


Good news for local shoppers – Coquitlam Farmers Market is open for the season. Running on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., now until Oct. 31, the outdoor market is open weekly in the parking lot on the southeast side of Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex. This temporary location is short walk from the market’s previous location (currently being used by Fraser Health’s Tri-City COVID-19 vaccination clinic).
 
COVID-19 measures are in place to ensure the safety of customers and vendors.

Join the Park Spark team on Friday, May 7 and help plant our bee eco-sculpture, and a garden full of yellow blooms to celebrate the international colour of hope for Communities in Bloom 2021. There are five time slots between 12:30 – 6:45 p.m. and pre-registration is required.

Crane at the future site of Place Maillardville Community Centre

Place Maillardville Community Centre

Construction Update


Construction is well underway on the new Place Maillardville Community Centre with the recent set up of the crane that will bring the new 22,000 square foot facility to life.

The new building is scheduled to open in fall 2022 and will enhance the amenities and services offered in the Maillardville neighbourhood, including more flexible and multi-purpose spaces, child minding space and a gymnasium.
