Coquitlam Remembers

Ideas to Mark Remembrance Day

Join Coquitlam’s Park Spark team and paint a poppy or write a message of remembrance and tie it to a tree along Veteran’s Way as part of a temporary display in Blue Mountain Park (975 King Albert Ave.) Nov. 1 – 10. Visit coquitlam.ca/parkspark for more info.

Looking for ways to honour veterans close to home? Download a printable Poppy Poster to place on your window or somewhere visible to others and gather your household for two minutes of silence on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. to remember those who have fallen in service for the country.

Adopt-a-Catch Basin

Volunteer with Friends or Family

We’ve launched an Adopt-a-Catch Basin program to encourage everyone to become stewards for catch basins – also known as storm drains – in their community. These curbside drains help prevent flooding by directing rainwater into the City’s drainage system, which flows directly into local creeks, streams and aquatic habitat.

Volunteers may adopt more than one catch basin and are encouraged to assign them fun, creative names. Click the link below for all the details and to locate a catch basin near you.
