COVID-19 Update

Changes to Recreation

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Coquitlam has operated within the requirements and guidelines set out by the Provincial Health Officer. All current public health orders are followed including proof of vaccination requirements and mask mandates.

As of Dec. 22, 2021, the City suspended access to all weight rooms and fitness centres, including drop-in and pre-registered fitness programs. Fitness centres will remain closed to adults until Jan. 18, or until the current health order is lifted.

Another change from the provincial health order has been the introduction of vaccination requirements for access to swimming pools. All pool visitors 12 years and up, including swimmers and spectators, are required to show proof of vaccination.

As we all know by now, requirements can change so please watch for updates at coquitlam.ca/covid19 to see what's needed for your next visit to a Coquitlam facility. Thank you and stay safe!

Northeast Community Centre

Last Chance to Have Your Say

Before finalizing the building plan for the Northeast Community Centre, we’re sharing the draft plans as guided by public input and industry experts. The future Northeast Community Centre is expected to open its doors by 2026, and the City is continuing to engage the community and interested and affected parties to ensure the needs, interests, values and aspirations of the community are identified and reflected in the resulting facility.

Please complete the survey online before Jan. 14, visit the project webpage or check out this short video to learn more about this important project.

Volunteer to be a Snow Angel

We’re continuing the search for volunteer Snow Angels — neighbours who can lend a helping hand by assisting those who are unable to clear their City sidewalks after a heavy snowfall.

Snow Angel volunteers are paired with neighbours in need, who are within walking distance, to assist in clearing snow from their City sidewalk within 24 hours of snowfall.

Thank you to all of our Snow Angel volunteers and good Samaritan residents who assisted their neighbours in clearing their City sidewalks during last week's heavy snow fall. Keep up the great work!
