First Day Reminders

Skating and Swimming

We’ve compiled a list of some reminders to help make the first day a success.

  1. Arrive early – 15 minutes in advance for swimming lessons, and 30 minutes in advance for skating lessons.
  2. Bring the report card – Remember to bring the old report from previous lessons. This will help the instructor evaluate and build on the participants’ abilities to create success.
  3. Learn the instructors name and class meeting spot
  4. Bring proper attire – Bathing suit and towel for swimming lessons (optional: swimming goggles and swim cap); helmet, waterproof pants, a warm jacket, and gloves or mittens for skating lessons (optional: knee and elbow pads under the clothing).
  5. Did you know? Helmet rentals are free for all skating lessons. Skates are available for rent, and we recommend purchasing a pack of 10 rentals prior to the lesson start date. Skate sharpening is not available on the first day of lessons but is available at the skate shop during public programming.
