General Recreation and Fitness

  • Registration opens Wednesday, March 2 – Online, phone-in and in-person registration begins at 8:30 a.m.

Online registration is available 24/7 at coquitlam.ca/registration. Phone-in registration is available at 604-927-4386, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except for statutory holidays) and weekends 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

New Adult Cooking Programs


Adults can acquire new cooking skills, learn new techniques in the kitchen and pick up a new recipe in recreation programs offered this spring.
 
Learn how to utilize the crock pot (or slow cooker) to make easy and delicious meals, master dinner entrées including Chicken Cordon Bleu, beef stew or meatloaf, or challenge yourself by cooking with more plant-based ingredients and minimal waste.

Get Active in Fitness Programs

All Ages and Abilities


Looking to add something new to your fitness routine? We have a variety of programs for all ages and abilities. Dance the class away in Barre or Latin Dance, slow it down in Low Impact or Essentrics, stay moving in Pre- and Post-Natal programs, and connect to your body in Yoga and Pilates programs.
 
New this season is an introductory yoga class for preschool aged children. Age appropriate movements, such as balance, breathing, dance and stretching will foster enjoyment of the yoga practice.

Good news outdoor enthusiasts! Our outdoor recreation programs are starting soon.
 
Upcoming programs include nature programs for preschoolers, camps for school-age children, and guided walks, hikes and nature-education programs for all ages. Programs will be added throughout the spring and summer, so check out the Outdoors web page for the latest information throughout the season.

Early Years Programs

Arts and Crafts, Dance and More


Introduce your child to the world of art, allow movement in a fun and playful environment, and encourage them to explore their creativity in Early Years programs starting this spring. Check out Ballet, Hip Hop, Ball Hockey, Gymnastics, Little Artists and Nature Explorers, and much more. Please note, adult participation is required for some of these programs.

Have you been wanting to participate on a sports team or do you just want more time to play? Check out Pinetree Community Centre’s all-levels-welcome youth sports leagues.
 
We have leagues for a variety of sports, including badminton, basketball, volleyball and more. Evenly matched teams play one another in a fun and supportive environment.

Is your child or youth feeling nervous about participating in a camp or recreation program next month? Contact the Community Services team to discuss how they can support your visit.
 
A recreation support plan can support your child’s experience by:

  • Providing key information to program leaders on how best to support your child’s unique needs
  • Identifying strategies to help your child stay engaged and having fun
  • Having supports such as visual cards and noise minimizing headphones available
  • Ensuring program spaces meet accessibility requirements
