Drop-in Sports – Everyone is Welcome

Tuesdays, April 12 to June 28

 
All ages and abilities are welcome to join in for an inclusive drop-in sports opportunity at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex on Tuesdays, April 12 to June 28 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Play basketball, soccer, floor hockey, lacrosse and more in Arena 2. $2 per participant.

Coquitlam’s Park Spark and Urban Forestry staff are teaming up to offer a tree-rific walk around Como Lake on Thursday, April 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. Explore Coquitlam’s tree canopy and learn fun facts about all of the amazing types of trees that call Coquitlam home. This walk will take place rain or shine.

Coquitlam Grant Opportunities for Local Non-Profits

It’s the final weeks to get your application in for two Coquitlam grant opportunities—the Spirit of Coquitlam Grant and the Revenue Recovery Grant.
 
The Spirit of Coquitlam Grant provides funds for festivals and events, sports equipment and activities, and new initiatives aligned with the City’s strategic goals. The Revenue Recovery Grant aims to support organizations whose revenue has been directly impacted by COVID-19.

Explore the Outdoors After School

Nature Trekkers (7 – 10 yrs)

 
Keep the kids busy and active outdoors after school in our Nature Trekkers program. Kids will meet at Pinetree Community Centre on Thursday afternoons, then spend the next two hours exploring the local forest and trails while learning about the local ecosystem.

Neighbourhood Small Grants

Grants Available Now

 
Do you have an idea for a low-cost project that will help make Coquitlam safer, stronger or more connected?

Applications for Neighbourhood Small Grants (NSG) between $50 and $500 will be accepted until April 29 through a continuing partnership between the City of Coquitlam, Coquitlam Foundation and Vancouver Foundation.

Grants will support projects in Coquitlam that bring people together, tackle social isolation and build a stronger community. Click the link below to learn more.

Kids Can Experience Yoga

Preschool Yoga (4 – 6 yrs)

 
Introduce your child to yoga through specialized movement and play! Kids will practice balance, breathing, dancing and stretching, and will have fun with friends. Movement is age appropriate to encourage enjoyment of the yoga practice.

Participants will learn introductory art skills and discover different styles and techniques while creating. Please be prepared for some mess! Note, adult participation is required for some early years classes.
